Project of the Week

This couch was given to me by my grandma Molly. It's a very sturdy couch, but needed a little facelift, so my sewing slaves, Mom and Holly spent many hours w/me recovering it :) I think I owe them lots of lattes!

Luke looses his first tooth!

Luke lost his first tooth today.....not nautrally. He was joking around with Papa and bit his sweater and when he pulled back, his tooth came out. I think he's going to have a hole there for quite awhile. On a good note, the tooth fairy is coming tonight.

Dining room

Here's some pics of the dining room before I take the sliver Christmas stuff down. Everything is basically from Craigslist or the Goodwill and we made the curtians and painted the picture. It's been a fun room to work on.

Visit From Greg and Brooke

Hey John, I know you'll be jealouse of this one, since Greg is your first love and all. Here are a couple pics of Brooke, Greg and I. Don't worry, we'll take a trip to the Caribean when you get back and visit them and you can cuddle with Greg then.

We hit the Goldsworthy Ranch for Christmas lunch. Great Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Jean were also able to come. We had a great time!

Merry (Late) Christmas from Iraq

Hey Everyone,

Hope you had a great Christmas. Here at Taji it was pretty much another day except for a service in the m0rning.

Wish I could post all the interesting things going on over here, will just say that it's been fairly quite over here. Last night there was an explosion and gun fire outside of the wire, but other then that this reconciliation has been a good thing. Pray that we all have the wisdom to continue it with the Sunnis. Every area in Iraq has it's own unique circumstances w/ it's own shieks trying to get power. I went outside of the wire for the first time to check-out our future home. Interesting experience, lots of people, lots of small fields w/ canals. Lots of spread out farm houses. Our JSS will be on the outskirts of a town of about 4,000.

Attached is a Christmas picture.

Will write more in the future, everything is going good here.

God Bless,

John

The Living Nativity

The kids, Nana and Papa and I went to the Living Nativity tonight. The kids were a little squirmy, but we still had a fun time. They loved seeing the live animals, and the shepards! There was a sceen where a centurian beat up a shepard....I think Luke will be talking about that for weeks.

Lunch party!

Everyone came over and brought lunch today. We had a great time visiting. Heidi and Andy, Grandpa, Aunt Tressa, Uncle Jim and Holly. The kids had a great time wrestling with Uncle Andy!

Chloe Got Her Ears Peirced

Project of the Week!

Last night we painted the boys room and this morning I hung curtians. The curtians and bed spreads are from the Goodwill (target does a drop there once a week) and the bamboo shades were a buck on clearance! Ahhhhh....it's so much better. Luke was soooo excited to help!

Lunch at Nana and Papa's

More of the family and Yakima and the Project of the Week!

As you can see from the last post. I don't really have the whole word/picture spacing thing down yet. Here are some more pics of the family. Brad, Danielle, Me, Brett, and then a pic of Aunt Jill and Danielle.
Also, here is the project of the week. This used to be a pine/forest green armioure...sp? Now it's a darker wood/distressed brown armioure w/better hardware.

Aunt Jill and Uncle Roland's house

Aunt Jill decorating cookies! Yummm!

Uncle Roland getting ready to watch Elf Bowling with the kids! We both agree it's an increadibly weird cartoon!

Aunt Jill and Uncle Brad

Here are some pics of our trip to Yakima to stay with Aunt Jill and Uncle Roland. They had toys, goodies, movies and a hot tub! The kids were in heaven and I loved all the conversations I was able to have with fun ADULTS! We had an awesome time!

John's cousins Brad, Brett and cousin-in-law Danielle were able to come up too! It was so fun getting to see everyone!

More Christmas Pagent pics

Here are some more pics of the kids at their pagent. One is with Auntie Holly :)

Kids Christmas Pagent

Chloe as an angel

Papa and the boys

Here are the kids at their Christmas program, and a pick of Joel after he colored on his face. Chloe was an angel at the program and Luke was a sheep. I think they made him a sheep for fear of what he would do as a shepard with a cane!
